We are proud to announce the upcoming 14th Annual Utah Dancesport Championships (UDC) hosted by Center Stage Performing Arts Studio. Mark your calendars for February 6, 2010 at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, Utah. It’s going to be a fantastic competition! Entry forms will be ready to download soon so keep your eyes open for them. We’re looking forward to seeing you at the UDC!

Timpview Thunderball Schedule

Here is the tentative schedule for the Timpview Thunderball this Saturday (10/24/09) at Timpview High School. The organizers wanted to provide this information also:
“This year there are several conflicts on the Thunderball date that we are trying to accomodate. Please carefully look at the schedule and information and understand that we trying to schedule around the ACT Exam, BYU Homecoming Parade & the BYU Homecoming Game, and it is nearly impossible to time everything perfectly for everyone. We have scheduled things so that we can still accept many entries, but we encourage you to submit your entries as soon as possible as we have capped each event at a specific number. When we reach that number, we will no longer be accepting entries. We look forward to seeing you at the Thunderball this weekend!”

The entry forms for the Ballroom Dancesport Classic at Hillcrest High School on Nov 7 are available below. Entry forms received after Oct 23 will be late and subject to a $15 late fee.

The Westlake Fall Dancestorm will be held Oct 31 at Westlake High School (99 N 200 W in Saratoga Springs). Entry forms and rules are located at the link below:
Entry forms are due by Oct 24 to avoid a late fee. After Oct 26 late entries may only be added if they do not create another round.
The entry forms for the Timpview Thunderball on Oct 24 are now available. Entry forms are due by Oct 13 to avoid a late fee. After Oct 20 late entries may only be added if they do not create another round.

Some additional information from Curt Holman:
1. We are now using the full range for the age divisions of the pre teen and junior categories.  ie.. Pre-teen I and Pre-teen II  and  Junior I / Junior II. These divisions are used regularly back east – when these young competitors come here in March  they expect more separation in the age divisions. —- It is likely that we will be combining the age divisions in November but thought it would be good for people to become familiar with the terms others use outside of the state.  The specifics are noted on the entry form.  (This only applies to the Open categories – syllabus events are based on grade in school.)
2. We will not be offering a Youth or Amateur Rhythm Event. This is due primarily to very low interest as well a very low quality of dancing over the past years. In its place we will be offering two single events open to adult and youth couples.
The events are 1) Open Mambo and 2) Open West Coast Swing.
We may offer a pre-champ rhythm event in March. This is yet to be determined.
