The tentative schedule for the OHS Tiger Classic has been updated. We added a couple of rounds to accommodate late entries. Again, please be prepared to dance at least 30 minutes before your event.

Many of those in the Ballroom community know Paul and Michelle Wilding: BYU alumni, professional competitiors, and directors of the Dance Dimension Ballroom studio for several years. Paul passed away Tuesday (9/14/10) after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was a great man and influenced the lives of many, many ballroom dancers throughout the country. Thank you for all you have done Paul! We will miss you!

His son Torin provided the following information regarding the viewing and funeral for those in the SLC area who would like to honor and remember Paul:

The viewing is 6-8 on Sunday. The funeral is Monday at 11am. Both are at the LDS ward house at 10975 s Prescott Dr. Sandy, UT 84092

We plan to have a moment of silence for Paul at the Tiger Classic this weekend to honor his memory and devotion to Ballroom dancing.

The OHS Tiger Classic schedule has been updated. Also, there were a couple of typos. The following are the correct dances for these events:

• Open Junior Latin (CC/S/PD)
• College Silver/Gold Latin (PD)

Please note that on some preliminary forms that we gave to coaches, there was an error. Please note these changes:

• Adult Pre-Champ Latin dances will be Cha Cha/Samba/Rumba (CC/S/R), not CC/S/PD
• We added an Open West Coast Swing category

Please note that the NDCA has officially changed the reference to the style previously known as “Standard”. It will now be called “Ballroom” in the United States to reflect the terminology used in the rest of the world. Local competitions will also start using this term to reference the style, rather than “Standard”, as used in the past.
