Alex Murillo has announced that the NBC talent show Amerca’s Got Talent will be at the Utah DanceSport Championship (hosted by Center Stage) on February 8, 2014 and The Barn at Thanksgiving Point. They want to film Utah’s high school teams and junior high schools and elementary kids along with the open events.

The following list shows the events that are still open for late registration at the Provo High Dancesport Championships this weekend, including the number of spots available in each of the events. More information from Angela Williams regarding registration:

“We will be opening doors at 3:00 and people can late register at that time. We will NOT be taking late registration over the phone, text, email, etc. There will be the $20 late fee charged for each entry form. If people want to make changes to the forms already turned in, there will be a $5 fee per change.”

Below is an updated schedule for the Provo High Dancesport Championships this weekend (Jan 24-25, 2014). Here is a summary of the changes from Angela Williams:

• Open Junior 1 & 2 Smooth is now combined and dancing on Friday night!
• Open Pre-Teen American is now dancing on Friday night.

Saturday Sessions 1 and 3 have order changes that affect these events:

• Open Youth Pre-Champ Ballroom
• Open Pre-Champ Smooth

Hopefully this will make it a little bit earlier leaving time on Saturday.

Please note that all late entries for the Provo High Dancesport Championships this Friday and Saturday (January 24-25, 2014) must be done AT the competition on Friday or Saturday. Provo High School will not accept any forms or money during the week.

Paul Winkelman has provided the following clarification for the process of auditioning for a scholarship and placement on the UVU Ballroom Team:

“With the change of the audition process from live audition to DVD or Internet link I would to clarify how thee audition process will be handled this year.

1. Have your students go to the UVU School of the Arts site and find the Scholarship tab
2. Click on the Scholarship tab and find Dance tab
3. Click on the Dance
4. This page lists different scholarships student may apply for. At the top of the page it indicated that the Ballroom Dance portion of the audition will be a DVD or internet link. Please scroll down this page.
