More exciting news for Utah Standard dancers! Alex Hawkins (the amazing Standard coach from Washington who is currently training some of the top Standard competitors in the nation) will be in Utah every Tuesday training Utah couples. We have decided to offer a weekly Standard class taught by Alex! It will be held every Tuesday from 7:30 to 8:30 and the cost will be only $20 per person or $15 per person if paid by the month in advance (4-week sessions). Included in that cost will be Standard rounds from 8:30 to 9pm. The class & rounds will be held at Charisma Studio located at 245 S Main St in Springville. “Dance with Ryan and Ashleigh Di Lello, from FOX’s So You Think You Can Dance! Auditions for their Pure Rhythms ballroom companies are this Saturday, August 23rd at 245 South Main Street in Springville. Please come to the time appointed for your age group:

Ages 10-13 10:30-11:30 AM
Ages 14-18 9:30-10:30AMAlthough auditions are held according to age group, the companies are not necessarily formed accordingly – skill level and placement will be determined at auditions. Please come 15-20 minutes early so you can register. There is a $5 audition fee.

The competition begins at 11:00 am in the Wilkinson Student Center Main Ballroom.
Alex Hawkins will be teaching a Standard workshop on Tues August 12th at Charisma Studio located at 245 S Main St in Springville from 7:30 to 9pm. The cost will be $25 per person. Starting in Sept she will be available every Tuesday at Strictly Ballroom for private lessons. The cost for private lessons will be $85. See the attached flyer for more information about Alex and the workshop.

The UVU Ballroom program will hold auditions for their Tour Team this Monday (May 5) at 5:00 pm in PE 154. More information from Paul Winkelman:
“UVU is having auditions for the tour team before Fall semester. Dancers placed on the tour team will have new material they will need to learn from video posting on Facebook. Dancers should come prepared with Waltz and Cha. Anyone who feels that could make the tour team are encouraged to audition.”
