SALT LAKE CITY – August 17th , 2015 – Nationally acclaimed professional dancer Chelsie Hightower is visiting DF Dance Studio on Saturday, August 29th for a 2-hour long all-levels workshop focusing on Cha Cha and Rumba, two popular Latin Ballroom styles. Workshops will take place between 12pm and 2pm. Beginners are welcome and students don’t need to bring a partner to join the workshop.

Ryan and Ashleigh Di Lello are holding auditions this Saturday August 22, 2015 for their Ballroom Teams for the 2015-2016 season! Pure Rhythms Teams are available for boys and girls ages 5-18. There are several opportunities to perform each year including in the Winter and Spring Recital, and other shows and special events. Each team also participates in 2-3 competitions each season.

Events begin at 11:00 am. As always, dancers should be prepared to dance 30 minutes before the scheduled time of their event.

Note: Admission tickets will NOT be available for purchase at the Wilkinson Center this year. Tickets can be purchased online at BYUtickets.com or in person at the BYU Ticket Office in the Marriott Center or HFAC. Ticket information can be found on the event website here.

Admission tickets for the 2015 BYU Summer Dancesport Challenge on August 7, 2015 will go on sale July 20, 2015. Table seats are $16 and general seats are $11.

NOTE: This year tickets can be purchased online at BYUTickets.com! You can also purchase tickets in person at the Marriott Center or HFAC ticket offices.

You will NOT be able to purchase tickets at the door at the Wilkinson Center on the day of the competition. If you must purchase tickets on the day of the event, you will need to walk to the HFAC ticket office.

The seventh annual Summery Youth Ballroom “Power” Camp will be held June 29 – July 2, 2015 at Aspire Dance Academy in Lindon. There are Single and Partner registrations available for the camp. Instructors include:

• Kyle Treu

Registration is $100 for each camp or $180 for both. Ladies registering for the Partner camp who do not register with a Man will be placed on a waiting list if gender numbers are not equal. However, dancers will change partners with all other dancers during the course of the camp.

DF Dance Studio in South Salt Lake will host their Summer Ball on June 19, 2015. This is a small quarterly studio competition, but it is open to any competitors. The event focuses on Pro/Am events, but there are some Am/Am events for youth and adults.

DF Dance Studio in Salt Lake City will host a Youth Ballroom Summer Camp June 8-11 from 8:30 am – 1:00 pm each day. No partner is required. There will be 2 levels: Beginner and Intermediate. The students will learn 4 dance styles (Waltz, Cha Cha, Swing and Foxtrot) and perform 2 of them for parents at the recital on Friday, 6/12/15! The cost is $170/child and includes 16 hours of lessons plus recital and rehearsal time.

The 8th annual Choreographer and Coach’s Camp will be July 11, 2015 from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm at the Aspire Dance Academy in Lindon. 6 different instructors will provide 7 hours of instruction for teachers. This year there will be classes specifically for youth, teaching them how to choreograph. Teacher registration is $130 and Student is $65.
