The entry forms for the 2012 Tiger Classic on September 22 at Orem High School are now available. You can download them at the OHS Ballroom website here:

Forms are due by Sept 12 to avoid a late fee. Forms can be mailed or returned in person to Orem High School.

Please note that some initial forms listed the Adult Pre-Championship Rhythm dances incorrectly. The correct dances will be CC/Sw/M.

Also, note that we have changed our College Syllabus categories to Adult Syllabus, to allow all adult age competitors the opportunity to compete in a syllabus event, regardless if they are enrolled in a college class.

Danzinskule is organizing a Choreographer and Coach’s Camp on July 20-21 in Orem. Here is more information from Elaine Grenko:

The Choreographer and Coach’s Camp is a camp especially designed for ballroom teachers and formation coaches.  This year marks our 5th annual event.  Past teachers have included Olga Rodionova, Slawek Sochacki, Lee Wakefield, Curt and Sharon Holman, Nadia Eftedal and many others.This year our featured teacher is Sasha Altukhov who is originally from the Ukraine.  He currently lives in the United States and travels to Utah frequently to train serious competitors.  It will be very exciting to learn from him.  He will be doing a Latin Competitors Workshop that your Open Latin Competitor couples will be invited to attend.  Let me know if you would like a flyer about that workshop.   New to our camp this year is also Brent and Mary Keck who have had so much success with formation teams.  They will be a great asset to our event.

This year we are focusing on customizing our instruction to meet the different levels of students you may be teaching.  You will be able to select from Beginning/Intermediate American Style or Intermediate/Advanced International Style for several classes.  The goal is to leave you with many new choreographic ideas that you can incorporate this coming year.

If you teach in the school system remember that your schools may pay for your tuition as you will be receiving a fully choreographed routine for your program.  Speak to your administrator soon and find out if you can submit your request for either partial assistance or the full amount before the end of the school year.

What a great opportunity to improve your teaching and coaching skills.  Whether you are a new teacher or have been in the industry for many years, this camp will have something for you.  We are gearing up for a great event!  We invite you to get your dance shoes ready and join us in July.
