Please see the information below from the organizers of the Wasatch Classic this Saturday (Feb 15)Â at Pleasant Grove High School. Note that dancers can still register through Wednesday without a late fee.
This competition is a National Qualifying Event for USA Dance. By participating in events at an NQE, dancers are eligible to compete at USA Dance National Championships held at the UCCU Center in Orem, Utah April 17-19, 2020 (http://www.usadancenationals.
“The first annual Wasatch Classic is this week! We are quickly approaching the event and we need to share some important information that we know you are anxious to know.
Tentative Schedule
Our schedule will go as follows:
- 8:00 AMÂ Â Â Â Â Â Doors Open
- 9:00 AMÂ Â Â Â Â Â USA Dance Ballroom events (all age categories)
- 10:30 AM Â Â Â USA Dance Latin events (all age categories)
- 12:00 PMÂ Â Â Â Non-qualifying Cabaret & Syllabus events (elementary, junior high, high school)
- 1:00 PMÂ Â Â Â Â Â USA Dance Smooth events (all age categories)
- 2:30 PMÂ Â Â Â Â Â USA Dance Rhythm events (all age categories)
- 4:30 PMÂ Â Â Â Â Â End of Competition
Please note:
- We are still anticipating some additional entries which may cause us to expand the schedule a little. If you look up your heat times online, please note the they can change. We will continue to update the schedule and will notify you if there are drastic changes from these times.

- Registration will remain open through Wednesday if you would like to enter more events.
- Late registration will be available until the end of the event for an additional $10 per event.
Qualification
For events that are Qualifying events, each dancer must be a current member of USA Dance. Most competitors will select from the following options:
- College age – Amateur Dancesport Student $25Â Â OR
- Youth (under 18) – Amateur Dancesport Minor $20

- Once you have registered for USA Dance, please login to the account where you created your RIN to enter in your USA Dance membership number. This will help us process you faster at the competition. Link to login is here:  https://competitor.o2cm.com/
- Select your dancer
- Click on the “Memberships” tab and enter the membership number in the USA Dance box, click Validate USA.

Athletes must qualify for each event they want to compete at Nationals. There are 3 ways to qualify in each event, only ONE needs to happen:Placement in the top 3 couples for an NQE competition in a particular age, proficiency and style (e.g., 3rd place for Junior 2 Pre-champ Standard);Placement in the top 75% of an NQE competition where there are more than 3 couples in a single eventParticipating in more than 1 NQE in the same age, proficiency and style (e.g., Adult Novice Rhythm).
Parking & Food
- The competition will take place in the Auxiliary Gym (or A Gym). The entrance is on the West side of the high school across from the football field bleachers
- There will be some other events going on at the high school throughout the day. We have been asked to have competitors and spectators enter in the building from the PG Rec Center parking lot. The entrance to that parking lot is located at

See the below from the organizers for website registration instructions:
- Click on the event link
- Log in to your O2CM account or create an account.
The person who creates the O2CM account can submit entries for any couple for whom they have a Registrant Identification Number (RIN). (The account owner does not need to be one of the dancers. It could be a parent or coach.) After logging in you are taken to the Registration form. - Click on “NEW” to create a new dancer and get their RIN. You will be prompted to create a new RIN for each dancer. You will need an email address from the household of each dancer (could be the dancer or a parent)
- With Lead and Follow selected, you will see options for Division, Age and Skill
- Division – Amateur
- Age
- USA Dance Events will be Age group or Adult
- Non USA Dance syllabus events will be by School year (Elem, JR High, High School)
- Skill
- Novice, Pre-Champ, Champ
- All syllabus events are Bronze-Gold
- With those 3 selected you will then see all events for that category.
- Select the desired event(s) (Ctrl+click to select multiple) and click “Add Couple to Events”
- You will see events entered in for the couple
- When complete, click on “Pay Now” — You will be taken to a PayPal checkout page to complete your transaction
